The 100 word challenge for grownups, hosted by Julia’s Place, gives us a weekly prompt to use in a short tale of 100 words or less. This week’s prompt is …and then I smiled… If you are interested in seeing more be sure to check them out at the link below. Keeping a tale at 100 words is not as easy as one would imagine. Stiletto (100 words)
I walked into the dark alley, pulling my shawl closed against the cool night air. Halfway through, strong hands grabbed me, threw me against the wall. Cold steel pressed against my neck. Dark eyes pierced mine as a harsh whisper bit the night,
“You scream, you die.”
I heard the zipper go down.
And then I smiled.
The stiletto went in smooth as silk, the perfect angle into heart muscle. He fell away. I wiped the knife on his jeans.
I frowned at the blood on my shawl. Third one ruined this month.
Good thing I bought them in bulk.

Thank you Susan. Nice of you to drop by! 🙂
And I always thought you were the quiet type…well, I see you ARE, but naughty as well.
I love this. Awesome. ❤ ❤ ❤
Thanks Tess! Lol I think we all have a slightly twisted side, (whether most would admit it or not) and it’s fun to let it escape in writing now and then.
