I missed it last week, but this week I’m getting in early for the Weekly Photo Challenge from WordPress. Click the link and go scroll through the other links in the comments section to see what others have done with this.
Here are two photos that were inspired by this week’s prompt: CONTRAST
I take no credit for the photos, most of my photos come from my daughters in their travels abroad. So I can’t really tell you where the above picture came from, but it makes a pretty interesting play of contrast, don’t you think?
Actually, I’m not even sure if that’s coffee or ice-cream, but I thought they had nice contrasting toppings.
Last, but not least, the contrast seen in nature as well as the contrast of nature’s lights and darks, with man-made lights and darks. This last photo is mine, taken off my balcony. I still don’t know how to take a good sunset, but these cloud formations looked pretty cool to me.
One of the more enjoyable moments in my week, finding pictures to correspond to the Weekly Photo Challenge of The Daily Post and then gong around and seeing what others have done with it.
This week’s Prompt: Indulge
Nothing like a kid in a candy store. I don’t often indulge in candy, it just doesn’t tempt me, but as someone who enjoys color, i am indulging in the sheer visual delight that this gives me. I sometimes wonder if the color of candy has anything to do with its taste. If all jellybeans were white, but still of different flavorings, would we still be able to distinguish the taste as readily? Somehow I think not.
Anyone who says they never indulged in chocolate, is either fabricating, or allergic. 😉 My daughter, here, I think perhaps she is biting off more than she can chew.
And now for my own personal indulgence:
An octagonal water-bed – it was my one indulgence after my divorce. I have never regretted it. I can sleep in any direction I want, it is fill size in all directions. Sadly, I will be parting with it when I sell the house, a huge water-bed will not fit well into a small apartment. Ah but it has served me well these past 12 years, gently lulling me to sleep and soothing me toward many wonderful dreams. Hmmm… I wonder if I could find a single sized waterbed? Nah, it just wouldn’t be the same.
Change happens, and our indulgences change with time. I wonder what my next will be?
The Weekly Photo Challenge for this week is Down. Click the link to see what others have posted.
Is this down enough for you?
Standing on a see through platform looking down. Are you dizzy yet?
I’ve decided to move the weekly photo challenge here, to my personal blog. Please don’t think that it is any kind of statement about photography. I realize there is much creativity that goes into photographs, but I’m not a photographer and these photo challenges, for me, at least, do not have much to do with art, so I figured I’d bring them here, as they have more to say about me than anything else.
This week’s Weekly Photo theme is Regret To see what others have posted, go to the Weekly Photo Challenge at The Daily Post and check out the links in the responses.
Actually, I kind of doubt she’s feeling regret at the moment. My daughter goes through life abundantly living and rarely regrets anything – but she does have her moments, and this one caught my eye when looking for something to exemplify Regret.
The next picture? Well this one kind of speaks for itself, don’t you think?
Thanks for viewing!
